Loopy Godinez Defeats Ketlen Souza by Unanimous Decision at UFC Vegas
Loopy Godinez defeated Ketlen Souza by unanimous decision in the women’s strawweight bout at UFC Fight Night: Allen vs. Duncan. All three judges scored it 29-28 after three rounds at Meta APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Godinez landed 128 of 212 total strikes at 60.4 percent and 67 of 146 significant strikes at 45.9 percent.
Souza connected on 70 of 160 total strikes at 43.8 percent and 63 of 153 significant strikes at 41.2 percent.
Neither fighter scored a knockdown or attempted a submission. Godinez was the only fighter who completed a takedown, finishing 2 of 13 attempts at 15.4 percent.
The official announcement came in the Octagon. “All three judges see this fight,” the announcer said. “Twenty nine, twenty eight, your winner by unanimous decision, Lupe Godinez!” Godinez’s hand was raised. Souza stood on the opposite side of the cage with visible damage on her face and torso.
Souza weighed in at 117 pounds, one pound over the strawweight limit, and the bout proceeded at catchweight. She forfeited 20 percent of her purse to Godinez.
The Mexican-Canadian fighter entered as the favorite and left with the win in front of her parents, who traveled to Las Vegas for the card. Souza, the Brazilian, had won her previous two bouts, including a first-round TKO of Ariane Carnelossi in June.
Godinez absorbed early pressure and landed the cleaner volume over the full distance. She secured both of her takedowns in the later rounds and used the top position to score.
Souza kept the exchanges competitive on the feet and limited damage from the bottom, but the three 29-28 cards all went to Godinez. The fight was the first on the main card to reach the third round.
Godinez moves to 15-6. Souza falls to 17-7. The win returns Godinez to the win column after a previous loss to Tatiana Suarez. Souza’s two-fight streak ends. Both women remain active in a deep strawweight division that has produced several decision results on recent cards.
Godinez leaves Las Vegas with a unanimous decision and the first win of her 2026 schedule. Souza leaves with the loss and the catchweight result attached to her record. Neither fighter has a return date announced, and the strawweight picture continues without an immediate booking set for either woman.
