Aieza Bertolso Submits Camila Reynoso in DWCS Opener
Aieza Bertolso needed one round to stay unbeaten on Dana White’s Contender Series.
The Brazilian strawweight finished Camila Reynoso by first-round submission to open Week 8 of Season 10 at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. The bout aired Tuesday on Paramount+.
Bertolso took the back, locked a body triangle, and tightened the choke until the referee stepped in. Commentary on the broadcast noted how little space Reynoso had left once the triangle was set.
“Any amount of space and you’ll be able to survive it, but she has really tightened it up here with this body triangle,” one voice said. Another added, “That is tight.”
The finish came with about two minutes remaining in the opening round. Bertolso stood, walked off, and left Reynoso on the canvas as the official moved in.
She entered 7-0. The win makes her 8-0 and keeps a submission-heavy résumé intact. Four of her first seven victories had already come by tap, including the armbar that won her the LFA strawweight title.
That title fight was September 5, 2025, in Cuiabá. Bertolso submitted Lany Silva in the second round of LFA 216 and had not fought in the year since. The Contender Series date was her first appearance after that long layoff.
Reynoso came in 9-1 out of Argentina. Previews listed her as a former two-division champion at Samurai Fight House and a late addition after a scheduling delay. She could not create the room she needed once Bertolso climbed to the back.
The graphic on the broadcast listed a strawweight bout and a 115-pound limit. Both women made the trip as prospects chasing a UFC contract, not as roster fighters.
A first-round finish on this show is the standard way to force a conversation with Dana White. Contracts are not automatic. White announces those decisions after the full card, and no official offer had been confirmed when the opening fight ended.
Week 8 still had four fights left after this one. For Bertolso, the night already delivered the performance Contender Series is built to find: a clean submission, an undefeated record, and a tape White can review before the show is over.
