Ryan Garcia Says Kota Miura Is Signing With King Ryan Promotions
Ryan Garcia has put a name on King Ryan Promotions. Standing in front of a Rolls-Royce on Kota Miura’s Instagram, the WBC welterweight champion said the Japanese fighter is joining him next year.
“You guys know what it is, hold up, signing to King Ryan Promotions next year, don’t miss him, my new fighter, he’s gonna take over, watch, let’s go,” Garcia said. The clip is tagged @kingryan, with “Vamos” and a crown over the two of them shaking hands.
That is an announcement, not a posted contract. Garcia said the signing is for next year. He did not name an opponent, a date, a weight, or a purse. Miura has not added a written confirmation in the video. The handshake and the post are the public record.
Miura is not a debutant in combat sports. He is 24, born May 28, 2002, and he has fought in RIZIN. His MMA record is 2-3, with a knockout of Yushi Sakura and an armbar of Bunchuai Phosungnoen, then three straight stoppage losses, the last of them a first-round TKO against Yong Chul Kwon on May 31, 2025, in Korea. A 2022 rules bout against Buakaw Banchamek also ended in a third-round stoppage.
The boxing part is newer. In June he posted that his road as a boxer had started and thanked Garcia. He had been training with him in Tokyo, including an uppercut sequence Garcia walked him through, and he wrote that he hoped to become the kind of man he had seen off a screen.
A later post called the setup RG Promotion, asked fans to support Garcia on September 12, and said Miura would be back in a ring before the end of the year.
September 12 was Garcia’s night. He stopped Conor Benn inside two rounds after taking the WBC welterweight title from Mario Barrios by unanimous decision in February.
Garcia is 26-2 with 21 knockouts. The April 2024 win over Devin Haney was later changed to a no-contest after an ostarine positive. He still has one fight left on his Golden Boy deal.
Oscar De La Hoya has pointed that last Golden Boy date toward Devin Haney or Teofimo Lopez on Cinco de Mayo weekend in 2027. Garcia has said he does not want to sit eight months.
He has talked about a December or January return, with Angel Fierro and Isaac Cruz among the names, and he has a public offer out to Floyd Mayweather that he says has to be a real fight, not an exhibition. A promotional signing does not change any of that. It adds a fighter Garcia says he is bringing in after his own remaining obligation.
King Ryan Promotions is the banner on the video, not a card with a posted schedule. Garcia has spent the year as the fighter, not the promoter of record, and Golden Boy still has him for one bout.
Miura’s “next year” line leaves 2026 as a waiting period unless a separate date appears. His own post about returning before the end of the year was about getting back in a ring, not about a King Ryan debut.
The clip is the first time Garcia has called Miura his fighter on camera. Until a contract, a commission, or an opponent follows the handshake, the signing is what he said it was: next year, under his name, with a prospect he says is going to take over.
