John Fury Rejects Darren Till and Jake Paul for Tommy
John Fury shut down talk of Darren Till and Jake Paul as options for Tommy Fury during an iFL TV sit-down. He said the names being floated cannot fight, and he called a bare-knuckle rumor about his son the biggest load of bollocks he had heard.
The interviewer opened by saying there had been talk with Paul, talk with Till, and more names beyond that. Fury cut across him before the list could grow. “Why do you keep mentioning these men that can’t put their hands up?” he said. “How many times have I got to f***ing tell you?”
He kept the dismissal on the same men. “Them men that can’t beat a fifty-year-old man that got chopped to pieces by a fifty-year-old,” Fury said. “Forget messing with Tommy Fury.” He added that even a free offer would not get those fights made. “Once you’ve insulted the Fury name, f*ck straight off down that road.”
Fury then took the money out of the argument. “I don’t need him or any fing body else, and neither does Tommy Fury,” he said. “Fck them bums that can’t fight. He’s f*ing useless.” The “him” sat on the Till and Paul talk the interviewer had just raised, not on a signed opponent.
he timing fits a fresh round of callouts. Till beat Yoel Romero by decision at BKFC 94 in Manchester on September 26, then used a DAZN interview to name Tommy and to pull John into a father-against-father line with Paul Till. Till has also said he does not give two f*cks about Tommy unless he is across the ring from him. A boxing match between Till and Tommy had already fallen apart after Till said he would use mixed-martial-arts tactics if the bout went against him.
Paul is the other name with history. Tommy became the first man to beat him, in their 2023 crossover fight, and John has lately pushed any rematch toward February or March 2027 after saying a December date did not work. The Sun reported that John appeared to wave off a $10 million sequel on that timetable. None of that turned into a new date on the iFL couch.
The bare-knuckle item got an even shorter answer. Told that Tommy might be doing a bare-knuckle fight, Fury said, “That’s the biggest load of bollocks I’ve heard in my life.” Asked where the story came from, he told the interviewer to tell him. “About somebody’s own little gobshite’s mouth.”
A return to a gloved ring was left open and expensive. “Don’t know. Depends on if you want to pay him properly,” Fury said when asked if Tommy would be seen in the ring again. He said Tommy trains twice a day, every day, without fail, because “you never know when you gotta put your hands up.” He said the Furys train nonstop because they expect trouble every day.
The standard he set for the next opponent was narrow. “Only the big names need apply,” Fury said. “Bums keep doing what you’re doing.” He rejected the idea that the family is waiting by the phone. “We’re not bothered if we never get a call. He’s got tons of money. We don’t need no, we’re sitting good.”
Fury closed by explaining why the names keep coming anyway. “Nobody wants to listen to them unless they’re mentioning me or a Fury,” he said. “Mention a Fury gonna get clicks. Don’t mention, you’re getting f*ck all.” He asked why those fighters cannot do anything with their own names if they are as big as the talk suggests. Until a promoter meets the price and the name test, John left Tommy in the gym and the Till and Paul talk outside it.
